12-Party Alliance calls for 2-day hartal

The 12-Party Alliance (12-Daliyo Jote) has called for a nationwide two-day general strike on Sunday (November 19) and Monday (November 20), demanding the withdrawal of the 12th parliamentary election schedule.

Leaders of the alliance brought out a procession in the capital on Thursday afternoon to protest the election schedule. After the procession, leaders of the alliance declared the hartal.

In a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Habibul Awal unveiled the election schedule, urging all political parties to join the polls.
