JaPa to join JS polls, contest in 300 seats

Jatiya Party (JaPa) will contest in all 300 constituencies in the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election slated for January 7, 2024 as a single party instead of compromising seats with anyone.

JaPa Chairman GM Quader took the decision to join the elections following the assurance of the Election Commission and all the concerned authorities, said a JaPa press release quoted party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu.

The concerned authorities assured that the polls will be free, impartial and credible where the voters could exercise their franchise without any hindrance, Chunnu told journalists at a press briefing at the party's Banani office on Wednesday afternoon.

JaPa sold 1,400 nomination forms as of Wednesday noon.

Chunnu said more than one aspirant candidate collected the nomination form in almost every constituency.
