Legal action if voters or candidates obstructed: Anisur

Election Commissioner Md Anisur Rahman said BNP still has the opportunity to participate in the 12th national elections slated for January 7. 

There is also an scope to revise the schedule if they join the polls, he also said, adding that whether the BNP will participate in the polls or not is up to them. 

However, the election commissioner warned saying that if anyone obstructs the voters or candidates in the election, legal action will be taken against them. 

The Election Commission has all kinds of preparations to make the election fair, impartial and acceptable, he reiterated.

He came up with the statements after exchanging views with the concerned returning officers, members of law-and-order forces, and the election related officers of Cox's Bazar and Bandarban districts on Tuesday afternoon.

Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran presided over the exchange meeting started around 11:30 am and ended after three hours.
