Mashiur Rahman Ranga's nomination halted

A returning officer has halted the nomination of Mashiur Rahman Ranga for the 12th parliamentary election as an independent candidate from the Rangpur-1 constituency.

Ranga's nomination papers were halted on Saturday due to a matter regarding a case. He was asked to submit proper documents by 4pm. After they are submitted, the returning office will take a decision.

Mashiur Rahman Ranga, a former Jatiya party (JaPa) secretary general, was not nominated as a candidate by the party as he was expelled.
