BNP mulls to hold rally on Victory Day

The BNP plans to hold a rally in Dhaka on Victory Day and Martyred Intellectuals Day.

According to party sources, BNP also intends to take out a procession from their Nayapaltan headquarters in the capital. 

The party's leaders and activists, who are in hiding, will join the rally, said sources. 

The decision was made during a meeting of the party's standing committee on Tuesday night, and they will seek permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, BNP standing committee member.

The BNP leader hoped that if the permission is granted, people from all walks of life will participate in the rally.

According to sources, if these events are successful, the BNP may proceed with further demonstrations on December 25.

Marking the Human Rights Day, on December 10, the party formed human chains across the country.
