Enamul Haq Babul's candidature cancelled

Enamul Haq Babul's candidature for the Awami League party in Jashore-4 has been cancelled by the Election Commission, following an appeal filed by Sukriti Kumar Mondol, another candidate from the same constituency. 

Mondol alleged that Babul is a loan defaulter. 

Additionally, former AL MP Ranjit Kumar Roy, running as an independent candidate, also filed an appeal against Babul's candidature. 

However, Enamul Haque Babul can go to the high court against this EC verdict.

A total of 558 appeals were filed by candidates, and hearings on these appeals will continue until Thursday. 

The 12th parliamentary polls are scheduled to take place on January 7.
