A.K. Azad to move court again against Shamim Haque

Faridpur 3 independent candidate A. K. Azad will again move to the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court challenging its verdict that allowed Awami League's nominated candidate Shamim Haque to participate in the upcoming 12th national elections slated for January 7 next.

Azad’s lawyer Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan told The Daily Samakal about the development on Tuesday night.

The Election Commission cancelled the candidature of Awami League candidate Shamim Haque due to allegations of dual citizenship filed by independent candidate A. K. Azad. Later, when Shamim Haque filed a writ, the High Court upheld the decision of the EC.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Supreme Court Chamber Court declared Shamim Haque's candidacy valid.
