Crisis will arise if election is obstructed: CEC

If the 12th national elections is opposed in a violent way, or if the voters are obstructed, a crisis will certainly arise, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said on Monday.

However, such a crisis will have to be tackled as the polls should be held at a certain time and by following a certain method. Adversity will occur. Nevertheless, responsibilities should be carried out, he said.

The CEC made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of a training programme for judicial magistrates, held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital.
