BNP calls hartal on polls day

The BNP has called for hartal on the day of the 12th national elections (January 7) demanding the government to step down and hold the elections under a neutral government.

The 48-hour countrywide hartal was called from 6am on January 6 to 6am on January 8. Moreover, a mass contact programme by BNP leaders and activists will be held on Friday.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at an urgent virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon.
