My supporters being arrested without warrant: A.K. Azad

Faridpur 3 independent candidate A. K. Azad said that false cases are being filed against his leaders and activists and they are being arrested without any warrant.

He made the remarks at a press conference held at this residence in Faridpur city on Saturday, the day before the 12th national elections.

A.K. Azad said, "Awami League candidate Shamim Haque and his supporters are causing disruptions as they can see the people's support for 'Eagle' in its mission to rid Bangladesh of unemployment and hunger. This 'Boat' candidate is creating obstructions in many ways."

"Ever since the symbols were distributed on December 18, 'Eagle' supporters are being threatened, attacked, and false cases are being lodged against them. In these incidents, even after we filed five cases and 14 GDs, there have been few steps taken."

He also said, "Even last night 'Boat' supporters attacked my leaders and activists. On Friday night, Poly member's house in Aliabad Union was attacked. Six people were hacked."
