Crowds throng to greet A.K. Azad

The Managing Director of Ha-Meem Group and the former president of FBCCI A. K. Azad has won the Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency with a large number of votes in the recently concluded 12th national elections. 

Independent candidate A.K. Azad defeated Awami League nominated aspirant Shamim Haque by 59,009 votes.

Soon after the announcement of the results of polling on Sunday night, hundreds of people thronged to the residence of Azad to greet him on his landslide victory. The stream of people spread beyond the house to the side road. The leader of the soil and people of Faridpur was showered with warm greetings from leaders and activists of various political and social organizations, including Faridpur Municipal Awami League, Ward Awami League, Upazila Awami League, Samakal Suhrid. 

Addressing the crowds A.K. Azad said, “This victory is yours. This victory belongs to all my leaders and workers. This victory is against terrorism. This victory is against extortion. I am thankful to all of you.”
