2nd phase of UP polls held

The second phase of Upazila Parishad Elections was held in 156 upazilas across the country on Tuesday (21 May). 

Voting started at 8 am and continued till 4pm.

The voting was held at 13,016 centres of 156 upazilas out of a total of 495 across the country. Out of them, polling through EVM was held in 24 upazilas, while other upazilas used ballots. 

The government has deployed a total of 457 platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to maintain law and order ahead of the polls.
