2nd phase upazila polls held peacefully: Quader

The second phase of the 6th upazila polls was held in peaceful manner, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

He made the claim in a press conference at AL President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office on Tuesday.

He also said the first phase and the voter's turnout was also quite satisfactory. 

Quader said BNP, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and some anti-state intellectuals are making falsehood to discourage the people in casting their votes.

No polls were held without bloodshed during BNP's tenure, he cited.
