Thousands throng at BNP's Naya Paltan rally

The BNP is holding a mass rally in front of its Dhaka headquarters to demand the release of the party’s chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The rally started at 3pm on Saturday with the presence of thousands of BNP men.

Mirza Abbas, a member of the party's Standing Committee, will preside over the event.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the rally as the chief guest.

On the other hand, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Awami League, a discussion meeting has started in front of the party's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital's Gulistan at 3 pm on Saturday.

Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League President Abu Ahmad Mannafi is presiding over the meeting while Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League General Secretary Humayun Kabir is conducting the gathering.

Awami League General Secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will address the meeting as the chief guest.

The leaders and workers of AL started gathering at Bangabandhu Avenue since this afternoon.
