AL blackmailed us into joining polls: GM Quader

Jatiya Party was blackmailed by Awami League into joining polls, the party's Chairman GM Quader has claimed.

"We did not spontaneously join the elections during Awami League's regime. Sheikh Hasina forced us to join the polls," he said during an emergency press conference held at the party's office on Friday. 

The press conference was called following an incident of attack, vandalism, and arson at their central office in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, on Thursday evening. A group of protesters under the banner of “Anti-Fascist Student, Workers, People” carried out the attack.

"We were beside the students in the Anti-Discrimination Movement. We prayed for students. But BNP conspired about the movement," GM Quader stated.
