Salahuddin Ahmed stresses on political unity at all-party meeting on July Proclamation

“What was the need for the July Declaration politically and historically five and a half months after the mass uprising”, BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has raised the question. 

Regarding the discussion at all-party meeting on July Proclamation, he said, “I have called on the advisers of the interim government to keep an eye on the fact that our political unity does not get broken after the fall of the fascist government.”

He made the statement in a briefing to journalists after emerging from the all-party meeting led by the Chief Adviser Dr Yunus on Thursday.

An all-party meeting was held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital around 4:30 pm regarding the declaration of the July Revolution.

Representatives of various political parties including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolon Bangladesh, Gana Sanghati Andolon, Gana Adhikar Parishad, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, National Citizens Committee were present in the meeting.

Although there was uncertainty before the meeting began, Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the party's standing committee, eventually joined as the BNP representative.

A four-member delegation led by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar joined the meeting.
