Political party to be officially announced by February: Akhtar Hossain

National Citizens’ Committee Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said a new political party will be announced by February.

He told reporters after exchanging views with students studying in Kaunia and Pirgachha at Carmichael College in Rangpur on Thursday afternoon.

Akhtar Hossain said the National Citizens’ Committee and the Student Movement Against Discrimination are working across the country to announce new political party officially by February.

He said that the National Citizens’ Committee has already formed 200 thana committees and more than 400 thana committees will be formed by January.

 “We have not yet decided on the name of the political party. But more than a hundred name proposals have been received from different people. The final name of the political party will be based on those names,” he continued.
