Rizvi seeks JS polls before local govt polls

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Saturday demanded national elections before local government polls saying additional work leaving aside main task will not be acceptable to the people.

"It is necessary to hold national election within a specific timeframe. If the polls are delayed too much, questions will arise among the common people," he told a roundtable at Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) in the capital's Agargaon.

Social organization 'Voice of the Nation' organized the event which was moderated by Ahmed Ehsan Kabir Shan, founder of Desh Foundation. 

Music director Ethun Babu, founding chairman of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) Bobby Hajjaj, among others, also spoke.
