Shahbagh blockaded demanding ban on Awami League

NCP, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Hefazat-e-Islam and Inqilab Mancha, along with various political, cultural and social organizations, have blockaded Shahbag demanding ban on Awami League. 

Due to the blockade, traffic on the roads from Shahbagh to Science Lab, TSC and Bangla Motorway has been completely stopped.

The blockade programme began at 4:50 pm on Friday under the leadership of NCP's main organiser Hasnat Abdullah. 

Since the blockade programme began, everyone participating here has been raising various slogans.

On the ground, it can be seen that Shahbag intersection has become abuzz with slogans. 'My brother is in the grave, why is the murderer outside', 'Ban ban, Awami League ban', and various slogans are seen being raised.

Earlier, NCP Chief Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah announced a blockade of Shahbagh from a rally in front of the chief adviser's residence, Jamuna.

He said, "We will not leave Shahbagh until a notification is issued banning the Awami League."

After the speech, a procession led by Hasnat Abdullah went towards Shahbagh. They went there and blocked the road demanding the banning of the Awami League.

Earlier, a sit-in programme was taken in front of the chief adviser's residence, Jamuna, demanding a clear roadmap for the trial of the Awami League and the banning of the party's political activities. The sit-in programme continued throughout Thursday night.
