Ishraque announces to take to the streets with supporters

BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has announced to take to the streets with his supporters.

He made this announcement on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, he wrote, "I will appear shortly to express my full solidarity with the agitating people and to stand with them on the streets as long as necessary, InshaAllah."

Earlier in the afternoon, he made another post on Facebook. In that post, he instructed his supporters not to leave the streets. 

Ishraque Hossain, instructing his supporters not to leave the streets until he is sworn in as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), said, "There is only one instruction - you cannot leave the streets until demands are met."

Meanwhile, the hearing of the writ petition filed in the afternoon seeking an order not to take the oath as the DSCC mayor was postponed again today. The order has been fixed for Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Ishraque Hossain's supporters started gathering in Matsya Bhaban, Kakrail and Press Club areas since Wednesday morning.

As per the previous announcement, they are holding the new programme as a decision has not been taken on handing over the responsibility of mayor to Ishraque Hossain by 10 am today. 

Consequently, BNP came to the street today. Traffic has been stopped in several areas including Shahbagh, Kakrail, High Court since morning, creating immense sufferings to the commuters.
