There is national consensus on polls before Ramadan: Khosru

The Standing Committee Member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said there is a national consensus regarding holding the national elections before the upcoming Ramadan. 

He said, "Everyone has the same opinion. We don't think there is any disagreement," he said at a press conference organised after a meeting of the BNP delegation with Brazilian Ambassador in Dhaka Paulo Fernando Dias Feres at the BNP Chairperson's political office in the city's Gulshan area on Tuesday. 

Shama Obaid, the organising secretary of BNP, was also present at the press conference.

Regarding the meeting with Paulo Fernando Dias Feres, Khasru said Brazil has assured of all kinds of cooperation when the country's elected government comes. 

"They are especially interested in working in the agricultural sector of Bangladesh. Brazil is one of the world's leading agricultural countries, and 

most people in Bangladesh are involved in this profession. The country will provide assistance on how to further enrich the country's agricultural sector in the future," he said.

Stating that Brazil also wants to help Bangladesh in the field of sports, the senior BNP leader said, Brazil will work for the development of football in Bangladesh.
