July proclamation, trials, polls need to be a package: Hasnat

Chief Organizer (South) of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Hasnat Abdullah has called for the July proclamation, trials and polls to be a package. 

He made the remarks while speaking to the families of July martyrs and injured at a view exchange meeting in Jashore on Friday morning. The meeting was held as part of the July March at a hotel in Jashore at around 11:30am. 

"Some people are saying we want to postpone the polls. That is incorrect. We want polls, but not to postpone the reforms," he said. 

Hasnat added that the system from before August 5 was faulty and it could not be returned. Trials of the Awami League and Sheikh Hasina have to be ensured. They cannot be part of the national polls. 

Several leaders of the NCP were present at the meeting. Family members of four martyrs of the July-August Mass Uprising and 15 injured were also there.
