Mirza Fakhrul hospitalised

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was admitted to United Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.

Fakhrul was taken to the hospital after he fell sick at his Gulshan residence around 12:01 am, BNP Standing Committee member Professor AZM Zahid Hossain told BSS.

He said the condition of the BNP Secretary General is now stable, but he is under close observations of doctors.

Zahid said Mirza Fakhrul is receiving treatment under cardiologist Professor Mominuzzaman.

Earlier, on Tuesday evening, Fakhrul returned to Dhaka from Bangkok after his follow-up eye treatment.

After arriving in Dhaka, he went straight to his Gulshan residence before attending a meeting of the BNP's National Standing Committee at the party chairperson's office.

Soon after returning home, Fakhrul began feeling unwell and was quickly taken to United Hospital.
