Humayun Kabir to contest national polls from Sylhet: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced that Humayun Kabir, foreign affairs advisor to acting chairman Tarique Rahman, will contest the upcoming national elections from Sylhet.

The statement was made during an introduction session at a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Dhaka, Gwen Lewis, at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Sunday.

Mirza Fakhrul stated that Humayun Kabir will remain in the country and participate in the election.

In response, Gwen Lewis acknowledged awareness of the matter. Pointing to Humayun Kabir, she remarked that she is aware the next foreign minister is coming from Sylhet.
