Tarique Rahman visits EC for voter registration

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the Election Commission (EC) at Agargaon in the capital to register as a voter and obtain his National Identity Card (NID).

He came to the EC after paying homage at the grave of Shaheed Osman Hadi near Dhaka University. He completed the necessary formalities for voter registration and took part in the process of obtaining his NID. 

Ahead of his arrival, foolproof security measures were taken in and around the EC and the Election Training Institute.

Members of the Bangladesh Army, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Ansar were deployed in and around the EC building and the training institute, while police were stationed outside the premises.

Earlier, Tarique Rahman returned home on Thursday morning after a 17-year exile in the United Kingdom (UK).
