Tasnim Jara resigns from NCP

Dr. Tasnim Jara, senior joint member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has resigned from the party.
In her Facebook statement, Dr. Jara declared her intention to contest the upcoming parliamentary election as an independent candidate from the Dhaka-9 constituency (covering Khilgaon, Sabujbagh, and Mugda areas).
Dr. Jara's husband, Khaled Saifullah, who serves as a joint convener of the NCP, is also expected to resign soon.
Reports indicate he has cited personal reasons for his decision.
