Tasnuva Jabin resigns from NCP

Tasnuva Jabin, Joint Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has resigned from the party.  

She announced her resignation via a post on her verified Facebook page at 12:35pm on Sunday. 

Tasnuva Jabin was an NCP candidate from the Dhaka-17 constituency. 

Ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election, NCP is facing a crisis while negotiating seat distribution with Jamaat-e-Islami. A section of NCP's central leadership is reacting strongly in this situation. 

On Saturday, NCP senior joint member secretary Tasnim Jara announced that she will contest the upcoming parliamentary election from the Dhaka-9 constituency as an independent candidate.

She made the announcement in a Facebook post addressed to the residents of Khilgaon, Sabujbagh and Mugda, saying that despite her long-cherished aspiration to enter parliament through a political party platform, the prevailing realities have led her to decide against contesting as a nominee of any political party or alliance.
