This is my last election, let me a chance: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said they do not do business through politics. 

“We do politics by selling our father's land, which was half finished. This is my last election, please, you will give me a chance," he urged.

He made these remarks at an election rally in the Kalitala area of Salandar Union on Thursday morning.

BNP Secretary General added, "We do not want to live on begging and charity. We want to live by working. That is why we have to get training. Our sons just want to study and pass MA or BA. However, they do not get jobs after passing. Now it is possible to go abroad and earn good income after training. Students have to be focused on that. We have to go on the right path. This will make us progress."

He also said, "We could not say these things for 15 years. They only beat us and filed cases against us. Now we want to work. You will build an organisation. We want to work through an organisation."

He mentioned that cold storage will be set up to store vegetables, and training will be provided for women in cottage industries.

Mirza Fakhrul stated, "Thakurgaon is my birthplace. My father, I, and my younger brother were the chairman of the municipality. During the Awami League era, despite the younger brother being the chairman, no allocation was given to him. We could not work. After the government left, we took up the road works of the city. You have voted in the past, you will vote this time too. We do not do business through politics. We do politics by selling our father's land. Our father's land, which was half finished, is gone. This is my last election, you will give me a chance."

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir became emotional when local women put garlands of money on him at the road meeting. At that time, he said, "During the 2001 election, the mothers and sisters of the area sold chicken eggs and chickens and gave me money for the election because I did not have money. I bought a car in 2006 and have not been able to change it yet. I am voting in a car given by someone else."

Leaders, workers, and supporters of different levels of the party were present at that time.
