We are on the way of forming the government: Nahid Islam

National Citizen Party (NCP) convener and candidate of the 11-party alliance for Dhaka-11 constituency Nahid Islam said they are on the way of forming the government.

He expressed his desire for the people of the country to come to the polling stations with celebration.

He made these remarks to journalists after finishing voting at Badda AKM Rahmat Ullah University College on Thursday.

Nahid emphasised that now is the time to understand the ownership of the country, an opportunity that had not existed until now but arose after the coup. He urged the people to establish democracy by voting yes.

He noted that since on Wednesday, various candidates and workers from their side have faced attacks, fear has been created among the people, many places have been targeted, and their election camps have been closed. However, he said they are not focusing on these adversities and instead want the people to come to the polls so they can respond to all this through the ballot.

Nahid expressed his expectation that the administration will act impartially and hoped for a fair election under such impartiality.

In this seat, there are 9 more candidates besides him. Dhaka North City Corporation's 11 constituencies consist of ward numbers 21, 22, 23, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42. The total number of voters here is 439,078, including 222,877 male voters, 216,198 female voters, and three third-gender voters.
