Misunderstandings on the election field should not turn into revenge: Tarique Rahman

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has called on all parties and individuals to exercise caution, ensuring that any misunderstandings arising during the electoral competition do not escalate into acts of revenge or retaliation.

He emphasised that while rivalries and competitions—whether between individuals or groups—are natural in the election arena, such differences or disputes should never be allowed to transform into vengeance.

Tarique Rahman made these remarks during a post-election press conference held at the ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka, which began after 3:30 pm on Saturday.

He described the BNP's victory as a triumph for Bangladesh, for democracy, for the people, and for those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for democratic rights.

"From today, we are free," he declared. "From today, freedom and human rights are truly protected."

The BNP Chairman expressed his expectation of cooperation from all political parties and individuals holding diverse views as the nation embarks on the journey to build a safe, humane, and democratic Bangladesh.

He extended congratulations and renewed thanks to democratic forces worldwide, Bangladeshis living abroad, and all freedom-loving people within the country.
