Awami League's activities to remain suspended: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has reaffirmed that the Awami League's political activities remain banned and will stay suspended. 

Speaking to journalists during an exchange of views at BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman's office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Wednesday night, he stated clearly, “They suddenly come out. I don’t think there is anything to give much importance to them.”

He said, “What I think is, let politics move on, let politics move in its own way, let democracy move in its own way. By looking at something in isolation, stopping politics, blocking democracy, blocking the way.... Let it move, let it not work.”

The BNP Secretary General also said, “Awami League will try to do some work. It is doing it. It is not getting any profit. The people have rejected them. People completely rejected it, didn't they?”
