Tofail Ahmed laid to eternal rest next to his parents' grave

Tofail Ahmed, one of the organisers of the Liberation War and a veteran politician, has been buried in his own district, Bhola. 

He was laid to eternal rest next to his parents' grave in Koralia village of Dakhin Dighaldi Union in Sadar Upazila. 

He was buried in the family graveyard after the namaz-e-janaza on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier, a helicopter carrying Tofail Ahmed's body from Dhaka reached Bhola at around 1:30 pm today. 

Hundreds of his followers and Awami League leaders and activists were already present there. Tofail Ahmed's daughter Dr. Taslima Zaman Munni broke down in tears after seeing the relatives present at that time.

Later, the body was taken down from the helicopter in an air-conditioned ambulance. The ambulance carrying the body, along with a police car and a motorcade of workers, went to the Bhola Government School grounds. The second namaz-e-janaza was held at this school ground. 

The state honour was given as the organiser of the Liberation War. Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Arifuzzaman led a police guard of honour.

Before the namaz-e-janaza, District BNP convener and District Council Administrator Golam Nabi Alamgir and Tofail Ahmed's daughter's son-in-law Dr. Tohiduzzaman Tuhin spoke. 

Golam Nabi Alamgir expressed deep shock and condolences to the family and prayed for the forgiveness of the soul. Son-in-law Dr. Tuhin sought prayers from everyone on behalf of the deceased's family.

Later, Tofail Ahmed's nephew Ashrafuzzaman Rajib said, "Not only we have become orphans, Awami League leaders and activists have lost their guardian."

Former panel mayor of Bhola Municipality Salauddin Lincoln said, "The Awami League has lost a great national leader."

After the namaz-e-janaza, the body of this veteran politician was taken to his birthplace, Koralia village in Dakhin Dighaldi, Sadar Upazila. After the third namaz-e-janaza, Tofail Ahmed was laid down to sleep next to his parents' graves.
