Four new members in BNP standing committee

Four new leaders have been included as members of the BNP national standing committee. According to the party’s decision, they have been appointed to the highest policy-making forum in order to inject greater momentum into organisational activities.

The four newly nominated leaders are BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Aman Ullah Aman, former acting convener of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Farhad Halim, and Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Md Ismail Zabiullah.

This was announced in a press release signed by BNP Joint Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain on Saturday. 

The statement said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party hopes the leaders will contribute to important decisions for the party and the people in the highest policy-making body through well-considered advice drawing on their talent and prudence.

Among the new members, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has long served as senior joint secretary general of the BNP. Aman Ullah Aman was previously convener of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, while Farhad Halim also acted as convener of the same organisational unit. 

Ismail Zabiullah is currently serving as the Prime Minister’s Public Administration Adviser.

The last national council of the BNP was held on March 19, 2016, after which the national standing committee was reconstituted. Some posts later fell vacant through death, resignation and other reasons. 

The party has filled these vacancies at different times; on this occasion four leaders have been inducted into the national standing committee together.
