BNP men clash with cops, torch vehicles at Nayapaltan

A clash broke out between police and BNP leaders and activists in front of the party’s Nayapaltan Central office in the city on Wednesday.

According to the witnesses, the clash ensued at around 12:45pm when the police were trying to obstruct the BNP men from gathering in front of their office.   

Chase, counter-chase and picketing were took place during the hour long clash while police also lobbed teargas to disperse the BNP activists.    

The BNP activists set at least two vehicles of police on fire and also vandalised some other vehicles.  

Meanwhile, the BNP demanded that at least 50 of their activists were injured during the clash.

Huge police took position in front of Bijoynagar Nightingale crossing. On the other hand, the BNP activists were showing demonstration taking position on the road.
