Ershad's health condition better than before: GM Quader

The health condition of ailing Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad is better than the before, said the party’s acting chairman GM Quader.

GM Quader, also the younger brother of Ershad, disclosed this while briefing reporters over Ershad’s health condition at the Jatiya Party Chairman’s Banani office in the city on Saturday.

“Doctors are optimistic that Ershad might get well gradually with better treatment but he isn't out of danger yet,” said GM Quader seeking blessings from all. 

Ershad was admitted to the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on June 26 and kept on oxygen support since June 30 as his condition deteriorated.

The 89-year-old former military ruler has been suffering from various old age complications, including low haemoglobin and liver problem, high bilirubin and kidney infection.    

Ershad was hardly seen in any programme since mid-November last due to his illness and gradually turned inactive in politics.

Once a strongman, Ershad received treatment aboard and at the CMH frequently over the last nine months.
