AL-BNP clash in Nayapaltan

A clash took place between the activists of ruling Awami League and BNP in front of the BNP's central office in Nayapalton in the capital.

The clash happened around 5:30 pm on Saturday, said Ramna Zone DC Sazzadur Rahman, adding that some were reported injured.

Eyewitnesses said the Awami League activists were passing in front of BNP's central office chanting slogans. Then the BNP men were shouting slogans from their office, triggering clashes, chase and counter-chase. Later, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Voting for two city corporations in Dhaka began at 8am and continued till4pm on Saturday. 

BNP has been claiming that the name of the election has been ridiculed, alleging various irregularities in the elections.
