Govt depoliticizing by spreading propaganda: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the ruling government has taken Bangladesh into the process of complete depoliticization by spreading fear and propaganda.

"In this case, they [the government] have been completely successful” he added.

He said this while addressing a discussion meeting on the occasion of the 14th death anniversary of former BNP secretary general KM Obaidur Rahman at the auditorium of Diploma Engineers’ Institute in Kakrail in the city on Saturday.

Regarding the attack on minorities in Sunamganj, Fakhrul said, "The general secretary and information minister of the Awami League has been lying about the communal incidents in Sunamganj." 

“In every case, they see the BNP, they are afraid of the BNP, they have nightmares about the BNP. Here too (in Sunamganj) they have tried to figure out how to use the name of BNP.”
