BNP leader Nipun Roy arrested

BNP central committee member and South Keraniganj unit of BNP president Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury has been arrested.

She was arrested from her home in the capital's Rayerbazar around 3:45 pm on Sunday.

Nipun Roy's father-in-law and BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said Nipun Roy was arrested in the afternoon and taken away from her residence.

A police source said that Nipun was arrested along with a BNP activist on the charge of ordering the BNP men to set fire to vehicles during the Hifazat strike on Sunday.
