55 BNP men sued over clash with police at Chandrima Udyan

Police have filed a case against 155 leaders and activists of BNP over Tuesday’s clash between the party men and law enforcers at Dhaka's Chandrima Udyan, said Md Shohidullah, deputy commissioner of Tejgaon Division.

BNP's Dhaka city north unit convenor Amanullah Aman and its member secretary Aminul Haque were among the accused in the case filed with Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Police Station, he said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested 47 accused.  

On Tuesday, BNP men and police clashed around 10:30am when members of the newly-formed convening committees of BNP's Dhaka city north and south units went to place wreaths at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman.
