BNP on mass hunger strike to send Khaleda abroad for better treatment

Leaders and activists of the party are holding a mass hunger strike demanding release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and allowing her to go abroad for better treatment.

The program started at 9 am on Saturday with Quran recitation and munajat.

Secretary General of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, all the top leaders including the standing committee members, took part in the mass hunger strike.

Leaders and activists started taking position on the ground floor of the BNP office in Naya Paltan from this morning. As the day progresses, the crowd of leaders and activists continues to grow. At one stage the traffic jam spread to the surrounding roads.

BNP chairperson's media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan said the hunger strike was being observed in other divisional cities and districts of the country, including the capital.
