Seed of communalism sowed throu killing of four national leaders: Quader

Removing communalism from the country is a challenge now, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday.

He said while talking to reporters after placing wreaths on the graves of national leaders at Banani graveyard here.

Quader said after killing Bangabandhu, the seed of communalism was sowed in the country through killing of the four national leaders.

Around 9am, the AL general secretary along with senior party leaders went to Banani graveyard on the occasion of the Jail Killing Day.

At first, he paid tribute to Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed and Captain M Mansur Ali by placing wreaths on their graves on behalf of the prime minister. Later, he placed wreaths on their graves on behalf of the party.

Four national leaders -- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain M Mansur Ali and AHM Quamaruzzaman -- were killed inside the Dhaka Central Jail on this day in 1975.
