BNP leaders are shameless: Hanif

The BNP leaders, according to Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, have no shame in insulting the Election Commission (EC) and labeling the commissioners "thieves."

He addressed this to journalists before attending a meeting of AL leaders from Chattogram division and Chandpur district at the party's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in this city.

BNP leader Khaleda Zia has been convicted of stealing orphans' money, according to Hanif, and her son Tarique Rahman has also been convicted. As a result, labeling people as thieves does not sit well with them, he noted.

He further said that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was a Pakistani supporter and that his party still adheres to Pakistani ideology.

Hanif stated that the country is progressing under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's energetic leadership, but the BNP's leaders are not pleased.

BNP is attempting to build a conspiracy in the country over the prices of necessary items, he said, adding that AL leaders and activists must be vigilant.

He asked AL leaders and activists to unite so that the BNP could not destabilize the country.
