Shaon's body buried under strict police guard at midnight

The burial of Jubo Dal activist Raja Ahmed Shaon, who was shot dead in the BNP-police clash in Narayanganj, was completed under heavy police guard on Thursday midnight.

Shaon was buried at Nabinagar graveyard after holding his namaz-e-janaza at Nabinagar Shahwar Ali High School grounds at 1.30 am on Friday. At that time, there was a situation of chaos.

Earlier, Shaon's body was taken to his house under strict security of the law and order forces around 1 am. 

Shaon was killed in a shootout during a police clash with BNP leaders and workers in Railgate No. 2 area of Narayanganj city.

Shaon was a worker of Enayetnagar Union Jubo Dal of Sadar Upazila unit.

Narayanganj General Hospital emergency department physician Nazmul Hossain said that Shawon died before being brought to the hospital. There are bullet marks on his body. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue.

On the occasion of party's 44th founding anniversary, the police stopped the BNP procession at around 10:30 am on Thursday. Clashes started later when the police chased and began baton-charge.

At this time, more than half a hundred journalists, police and BNP workers were injured. Some of them have been shot.
