Mobile phone users to get call drop compensation from July

Mobile phone operators will give free minutes to its users as compensation for every case of call drop and network failure, State Minister for Post and Telecommunications Tarana Halim has said.

She disclosed the decision after a meeting with the chief executive officers of the mobile phone operators at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.

As per the decision, the users will not get compensation if the call drops in the first minute. After the first one minute, the users will receive one minute as the compensation for each call drop.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will form a committee in June in this regard, decided the meeting.
