Bangladesh reached the Super-10 stage of the ICC World Twenty20 as unbeaten Group-A champion beating Oman by a huge margin of 54 runs via D/L method in the rain-marred last qualifying round match at Dharamsala, India on Sunday.
Replying to Bangladesh’s 180 for 2, Oman folded their innings on 65 for 9 in curtailed 12 overs.
The Tigers will join the five-team Group-2 of the Super-10 stage along with Australia, India, Pakistan and New Zealand.
Bangladesh scored 180 runs losing 2 wickets in 20 overs against Oman in 12th Match of the World T20 at Dharamsala.
Tamim Iqbal's rapid fifty and one century lifted Bangladesh from a slow start towards a strong score against Oman.
He smashed a fabulous ton of 103* off 63 balls hitting 10 groundbreaking boundaries and four whirlwind maximums at Dharamsala.
Soumya Sarkar scored 12 off 22 balls in Bangladesh's sluggish start in the must-win match.
Oman won the toss and elected to bowl first against Tigers earlier.
Like the previous days, the rain at Dharamsala once again posed a threat to the knockout qualifier between Bangladesh and Oman from being held today.
Earlier on Friday the Bangladesh-Ireland match was abandoned due to continuous rain at Dharamsala stadium.
The Netherlands -Oman match was also washed out without a ball being bowled in the same day.
