Cricketer Al-Amin gets bail after surrendering

Al-Amin Hossain, a bowler for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, surrendered before a Dhaka court on Tuesday. After posting a 5,000 Taka bond, the court granted him bail in a maintenance case.

He was granted bail until October 6 by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin following the conclusion of the bail hearing.

Ishrat Jahan, the pacer (pace-bowler) for the national team, reported Al-Amin for physical abuse and torture in return for dowry on August 1 at Mirpur Model Thana. The victim and her small children were allegedly forcibly removed from their house, according to the complaint.

After primary investigation and verification police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence the next day.

Al-Amin received an eight-week anticipatory bail from the High Court on September 6.

The woman sought maintenance for herself and her children the following day in a new lawsuit against the cricketer. He was served with a warrant for him to appear before the court that day.
