Hathurusingha returns to lead the Tigers

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Chandika Hathurusingha as the Bangladesh cricket team head coach for two years effective from February 2023.

BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter in a statement on Tuesday.

The Sri Lankan will lead the Bangladesh national team for the second time; he previously held the position from 2014 to 2017.

BCB press release quoted Hathurusingha sa saying, "It's an honour to have been given this opportunity to coach the Bangladesh national team once again. I really loved the warmth of the people and the culture of Bangladesh whenever I have been there. I'm looking forward to working with the players once again and enjoy their successes." 

He left his post as assistant coach of New South Wales.
