Bangladesh run out of steam early

Bangladesh faced misfortune early on Thursday as the side struggled to build momentum and were all out after adding a meagre 20 runs in seven wickets on the second day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

On the first day, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Zakir Hasan was quickly out for just one run.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 76 runs from 137 balls, including 9 boundaries, before being caught by Ibrahim Zadran off the bowling of Rahmat Shah. Despite this, Bangladesh got off to a solid start.

Najmul Hossain Shanto's excellent innings helped Bangladesh finish the first day on 362 for 5.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, got the remaining wickets and bowled Bangladesh out for just 382 runs on day two.
