Bangladesh secure historic win over India

Three days after overcoming India in their first victory in five years, the Bangladesh women's cricket team defeated their neighbours and won their first one-day international match by a score of 40 runs in DLS method.  

Bangladesh held off India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday with the aid of young pacer Marufa Akter, who claimed four wickets for 29 runs.

This is Bangladesh's first ODI win in the format after five losses to its illustrious neighbours.

Due to an injury, Shorna Akter was unable to bat, but Bangladesh managed to score 152 for 9 in the 44-over match. Captain Nigar Sultana scored a career-high 39 runs.

In response, India was bowled out for 113 in 33.5 overs. Marufa took four wickets while Rabeya Khatun got three wickets.
