Fargana scores first ODI ton as Bangladeshi woman

Fargana Hoque has become the first Bangladeshi woman cricketer to score an ODI century in the series-deciding third and final ODI match against India at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

She bagged 107 runs in 160 balls, bringing the team score to 225-4, their second highest total after 234-7 against Pakistan.

Earlier, Rumana Ahmed and Salma Khatun were the joint highest individual scorer for Bangladesh with 75 runs. Fargana's previous ODI best was 71.

Bangladesh won the first match by 40 runs under the DLS method before India levelled the series with a massive 108-run victory in the second game.

The victory in the first ODI was Bangladesh's maiden victory in this format against India. Pacer Marufa Akter was instrumental in the victory, claiming her career-best 4-29.
